Iceland promises a turkey in time for Christmas Day to every Brit, by launching its Turkey Insurance. To guarantee their festive feast with a turkey this Christmas, shoppers simply need choose their preferred turkey via the reservation form and select their online delivery slot by Monday 22nd November.
Iceland is reassuring its customers with a guarantee, preventing any unnecessary uncertainty about whether they will be able to get their hands on a turkey this year. The first 150,000 customers who register for an Iceland account and book a delivery slot scheduled between 11th and 17th December, by Monday 22nd November, will be guaranteed a turkey in time for Christmas Day.
Furthermore, Iceland has announced over 600,000 Christmas delivery slots have been made available to its customers between 11th and 17th December. Iceland is so confident these Christmas deliveries will arrive on time; the supermarket promises to pay for the entire Christmas shop should any arrive late.
This follows figures reported from the Office for National Statistics showing 18% of frozen turkeys either were not available, or stock was low when reviewing shelf availability of products between Friday 5th to Monday 8th November and data from Kantar revealing British shoppers spent £6m more on frozen turkeys in October in comparison to last year.
Customers will get the chance to choose from three different frozen turkeys; Iceland Perfect Turkey (£17.00, 2.2kg, serves 8-10), Bernard Matthews Golden Norfolk Basted Turkey Crown Medium (£16.00, serves 6-10) and Bernard Matthews Golden Norfolk Basted Whole Turkey with Giblets Large (£17.00, 8-10).
Once shoppers create an account and book their delivery slot, selecting their chosen turkey, they can be rest assured the Christmas feast is insured by Iceland. Six days before the allocated delivery slot they will be invited to complete their online order by adding their reserved turkey to the basket alongside all their Christmas essentials.
Andrew Staniland, Frozen Trading Director at Iceland Foods, said: “Planning for your Christmas Day meal can be a tense time and this year with noise of Christmas food shortages we wanted to offer added reassurance to our customers.”

Earlier this festive season, Iceland revealed sales for frozen turkeys went up by 409% in September compared to the same period in 2020, demonstrating how customers have been preparing in advance for a big festive party.
